Introduction







"Serving Hands are Holier than the Lips that Speak"-said Mother Theresa. Keeping in mind her dedicated service for underprevilliged, Mother Theresa special school was started in 1998 aiming to provide care and rehabilitation for rural poor children with disability at udumalpet- a rural region in Tamilnadu State, India.






There are 45 children in the age group 3 to 18 years with different categories of disabilities such as Mental Retardation, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Speech and Hearing Impairement and Multiple disabilities are benefitting at the special school. They are provided Residential Care with special education, therapy services, activities of daily living, motor, communication skill training and social skill development with the help of specialised materials and methods.


Majority of them are from very poor rural families and the families are unable to contribute much for their special children. Thus the organisation seeks assistance of all kind hearts for the betterment of the special kids who are unnoticed by many service providers.
